Our Gotland yarn is from our own pedigree flock of Gotland Sheep. Each year we lamb rear and shear our Gotlands to produce some of the finest British wool on the market today. Susie shear our flocks at Christmas or early in the New Year to get the very best quality fleece, they are then tucked up in the barn with oodles of clean straw and hay. The fleece goes to Yorkshire for washing then down to the West Country for spinning by John Arbon. Finally winding its way back to the farm for hand dyeing by Emma.
Each season we have a limited spinning run of our Gotland yarn. When stocks run low it is not a case of phoning our supplier for more yarn! We have to wait for our wool to be reared, sheared and processed, which takes months. This means that you get the very best of British traditional yarn. When it's gone, it's gone - some things are just worth waiting for! Each skein of yarn comes with its own limited edition number so you know that you have something very special and unique.
